Travel documents / immigration / customs
European Union citizens, as well as citizens of Schengen states, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino and Switzerland may enter Croatia with a valid identity card; others require a valid passport.
Visas are not required for visitors from the countries with which Croatia has mutually abolished visas. Visitors from countries which have not signed such conventions must obtain a visa from Croatian diplomatic and consular offices abroad.
Special arrangements will be made for such delegates (cost of aprox 60,00 eur)
Customs formalities are reduced to a minimum for visitors entering and leaving Croatia. Personal luggage also includes 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco, 1 litre of alcohol and 1/4 litre of cologne water. Customs tax is paid on articles which are not personal luggage and are of a commercial nature. No duty is paid on souvenirs or other objects bought in Croatia unless their quantity indicates that they are intended for sale.
