Paediatric Orthopedic Surgery Vacancy

Head, Unit of Paediatric Orthopedics and Traumatology and Scoliosis Center, at the Institute for Child Health Burlo Garofolo, Trieste, Italia.

The Institute (http://www.burlo.trieste.it) is a referral hospital for maternal and child health, a teaching hospital linked with the University of Trieste Medical School and one of the three Research Institutes entitled to carry out research activities with special funds from the Ministry of Health in Italy.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive experience in orthopaedics and traumatology in paediatric patients, and will be able to ensure clinical excellence and further developments in the following areas: diagnosis and treatment of malformations, including those consequent to specific conditions such as cerebral palsy; treatment of scoliosis including the VEPTR technique, diagnosis and treatment of osteo-tendinous lesions, hand surgery of traumatic and congenital pathologies, prosthetic treatment of congenital and acquired conditions. The candidate is also expected to promote operational, clinical and experimental research. The Unit has with 6 full time paediatric surgeons and is part of the Department of Surgery.
