Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society Board, I would like to invite you to attend the 28th EPOS meeting which Lisbon is proud to host April 1st to 4th 2009.

Lisbon is a city open to the world, with a very rich history connected to the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

The meeting will be very dynamic:
the pre-course addresses a very hot spinal topic, where Paediatric Orthopaedics should be very active “Non Idiopathic Adolescent Scoliosis” the main subject is “ Children’s trauma”, because more patients are referred to specialized centers for care workshops are organized at lunch times lectures and scientific sessions.

Manuel Cassiano Neves, our local host set-up a very attractive social programme, you will the opportunity to discover also by yourself Fados cafés, fish’s restaurants, as well World Historic Heritage like Jeronimos Monastery and Belem tower.

Dear Colleagues,

The European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society will be organising its 28th annual meeting in Lisbon 2009 between 1st and 4th of April.

The meeting will be held at the SHERATON LISBOA HOTEL & SPA, just in the middle of town, and will have full facilities. The location of the hotel in the centre of Lisbon is essential to create a warm atmosphere providing you and your family with a unique location making it enjoyable for every one of you.

We expect to attract around 500 to 600 Orthopaedic Surgeons dedicated to Children’s Orthopaedics, the majority from Europe and the USA, that will discuss all the fields of our speciality but mostly oriented to two subjects: Non-Idiopathic Scoliosis, the subject of our pre-meeting course organised on Wednesday April 1st and Paediatric Trauma, the main topic of the meeting. During 4 days the discussion will be centred on the diagnosis and the new technical developments for the treatment of Spine problems in the young population and the new approaches for the treatment of trauma in children and adolescents.

In the last years Lisbon as been the stage for different meetings and organisations attracting people from all around the world. You can melt with the historical monuments, most of them related to the discoverys era, visit some of our historical museums, enjoy our food with different tastes according to our regions and find some of the best shopping in Europe. But most of all we hope to have an exceptional scientific meeting with active and exciting discussions giving you the opportunity to improve your skills as a Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon. This year we decided to add to our regular program, two Instructional Symposia to meet your expectations in terms of education. We hope you will find this attractive.
